Local woman reaches another milestone

Thomesine Draper, a Riverview Drive resident, was recently named vice president of national accounts for Overseas Service Corp, a company based in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Draper, a 42-year veteran in the military broker business, joined Overseas in 1986 as the company’s director of national accounts. She began her career with V.H. Monette and Co, where she was employed for 25 years.

In her years at Overseas Services Corp, Draper has won many honors and awards from the corporation and its clientele. The American Logistic Association selected her in 2001 as Outstanding Woman in Resale. She is also a past president of the Hampton Roads ALA chapter and has served as an officer for several years. She is the liaison for the MBU and Command Group at Fort Lee, representing the Hampton Roads chapter. She is a member of the Commissary Council, co-chairman of the Consumer Awareness Committee and on the ALA Convention steering committee for the past two years.

Draper and her husband of 42 years, Bobby, have one daughter, Mary Yvonne, and two grandsons, Draper and Jake.
