Woodmen of the World tap native for honor

A native of Suffolk was honored recently in Timberville.
Roland &uot;Mike&uot; Wyatt was recognized and named &uot;Citizen of the Year&uot; by the Modern Woodmen of American in Timberville.
His award read as follows: &uot;As a fraternal life insurance organization dedicated to the future of American families, we recognize your accomplishments and appreciate your contributions of volunteer community service. We name you Citizen of the Year.&uot;
Wyatt was nominated for the honor by a friend, who also happens to be a member of the organization.friend of Wyatt’s who is a member of the organization, entered his name along with an essay explaining why he felt Wyatt should receive this honor. He was selected from among 300 other nominations.
Before Wyatt and his wife, Mary, moved to Timberville, which is near Harrisonburg, he had been a Suffolk resident for 50 years.
He is the son of the late James and Elizabeth Wyatt, and is employed by K&R Donnelly & Sons Printing Co. in Timberville.
