Doretha D. Woodson

Doretha Duke Woodson of Carrsville Highway, Carrsville, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, in Courtland Health Care Center.
The Southampton County native was a member of Pulaski Baptist Church where she was mother of the church, served on the Senior Choir, member of the Missionary Society, founder of the Sick and Shut-In Mission, Happy Three Singers and a member of the Sunday School.
For many years she was employed with Planters Peanut Corp., later retired, and joined the Senior Citizens.
She is survived by one daughter, Veronica Renee Duke-Parker of Carrsville; one brother, Johnnie Harris; six goddaughters; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, Pulaski Baptist Church, 6431 Carrsville Highway, with Pastor R.E. Rodgers delivering the eulogy. Burial will be in the Duke Family Cemetery.
Her body will placed in the church for viewing by 11 a.m.
