The day after Christmas seemed to find customers shopping back at average paces at some very popular stores in the area.
Sam Wiggs, manager at Wal-Mart at 1200 N. Main St., said that the lines for returning items didn’t seem to be too long. &uot; This year I think that everyone got exactly what they wanted. We had big crowds right before Christmas but now they seem to be back down to average,&uot; said Wiggs.
Monica Brown, lead cashier at the Dollar General store at 918 N. Main St. said that shoppers were really in big numbers during days right before Christmas. &uot;It is not like it was on Wednesday but it is still a little above average which is still good,&uot; she said.
Lisa Saddler, area sales manager at Belk at 1403 N. Main St., said that shopping at that store has also returned to average with no more returns than usual.
Less returns in all of these stores to seem prove Wiggs’s statement that this year shoppers seemed to know what they and their intended family and friends wanted for Christmas.
