Cynthia E. Whitfield

Cynthia D. Everette Whitfield, 44, of 72 Carver Ave., Smithfield, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004, in Obici Hospital.
She was a native of Nansemond County, and a daughter of the late Rev. Alphonsa and Dollie Holliman Whitfield.
Ms. Everette-Whitfield was a member of Piney Grove Baptist, Buckhorn, where she received the Lord as her personal savior.
She was a member of the Whitfield Gospel Singers of Smithfield for 35 years and was a member of Piney Grove Young Adult Choir.
She was also an evangelist gospel singer spreading God’s Word through song.
She is survived by two sons, Harvey Copeland Jr. of Newport News, and Donavan Copeland of Smithfield; two sisters, Helen Stallings (Douglas) of Hampton, and Brenda Diggs (Jerry) of Smithfield; two brothers, Alphonsa Whitfield Jr. (Patricia) of Suffolk, and Ronnie Whitfield (Margienette) of Newport News; two aunts, Georgia Warren of Smithfield, and Loretta Lankford of Windsor; five uncles, Alexander Holliman Sr., Bennie Holliman and Elder Arthur Holliman, all of Windsor; John Holliman of Smithfield; and Ralph Holliman of Salisbury, Md.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The funeral will be held at noon Thursday, Jan. 15 in Piney Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Larry Parker. Interment will be in the Tyler Cemetery, Windsor.
The family will be at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Alphonsa Whitfield Jr., 824 Moore Farm Lane, Suffolk.
