Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Newchok of Ashland and Ms. Linda Rablin of Ruther Glen announce the engagement of their daughter, Sara Rablin, to Shawn Shelton, both of Fairfax.

He is the son of Mr. C.C. Shelton of Virginia Beach, and the late Barbara Wallace Shelton, who lived in Suffolk.

Miss Rablin is a graduate of Patrick Henry High School and The College of William and Mary.

She is employed by Booz Allen and Hamilton in McLean.

Mr. Shelton is a graduate of Nansemond-Suffolk Academy and Randolph-Macon College.

He is employed by The Teaching Company in Chantilly.

A September wedding in Ashland is planned.
