Barbara D. Hampton

Mrs. Barbara Darden Hampton. 69, of St. John Street, Tampa, Fla., died Jan. 13, 2004, in St. John Hospital, Tampa.

A native of Suffolk, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Christine Darden, and the widow of Herman Hampton.

She attended the former Booker T. Washington High School of Suffolk, and was a former member of Metropolitan Baptist Church, Suffolk.

Left to cherish her memory are four daughters, Christine Darden Smith of Trenton, N.J.; and Cynthia Hampton, Princess Hampton and Tonesha Hampton, all of Tampa; three sons, Charlie Darden (Agnes) of Baltimore, Md.; Alvin Darden (Margie) of Suffolk; and Herman Hampton of Tampa; three sisters, Lottie Bazemore and Alice D. Lundia (Edward), all of Suffolk; Virginia D. Richardson (William) of Riverside, Calif.; and 19 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, all of Suffolk; and other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, in Ray Williams Funeral Home, Tampa.
