Editor, the News-Herald:
The members of the Suffolk Education Foundation’s Board of Directors would like to extend their appreciation to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration Committee for honoring the foundation on Jan. 19 with its &uot;I Have A Dream Award.&uot;
The committee, chaired by Ms. Vanessa Savage, is to be commended for its outstanding observance of Dr. King’s birthday and the celebration of his legacy.
There is no doubt that Dr. King’s teachings left an impression on millions. Just as Dr. King worked to make a difference in our country, our foundation strives to reward those students and teachers who understand what it means to make a difference in Suffolk. Over the past 10 years we have awarded nearly $200,000 in grants, scholarships and tuition assistance.
We wish the committee continued success in the coming years and are honored to have been a small part of an outstanding ceremony.
Sincerely,
Tim Copeland
Executive Director
