Edna G. Beale

Edna Griffin Beale, 94, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004. She was formerly of Suffolk, a native of Nansemond County, and had been a resident of Williamsburg for the last four years.
She was a daughter of the late Mallie Johnson Griffin and Joseph Cephus Griffin of Suffolk. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, E. Clyde Beale Sr.; sister, Doris Sheehan Griffin; and brothers, Causey Griffin and Kline Griffin.
She is survived by her son, E. Clyde Beale Jr., and wife, Frankie, of Branson, Mo.; and daughter, Judith Beale Bankit, and husband, Dr. Paul Bankit, of Williamsburg; grandchildren, the Rev. H. Wade Trump and wife, the Rev. Lisa Ball Trump, of Williamsburg; Debbie Beale Babbitt, Robert Beale and Laura Beale Bass, all of Bloomfield, Ill.; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Mitchell, Jessica, and Shenan Trump, and Malisa, Anastasia, Gabryl, Gloria, and Mackensee, all of Illinois; and two sisters Virginia G. Cross of Newport News, and Katherine G. Morris of Albuquerque, N.M.
Edna was an active member of the Holland Baptist Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, in Sidney F. Harrell Chapel of the Harrell & Hill Funeral Home, 2460 Pruden Blvd., Suffolk, by the Rev. David Ford of Newtown United Methodist Church, with burial in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
