Edith I. Herring

Edith Inez Herring, 83, of Suffolk, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, in Obici Hospital. She was a daughter of the late Willie Stephens and Julia Malone Stephens. Edith was born in Emporia, and had retired from Planters Peanuts.

Her husband, James Herring, predeceased her.

She leaves to cherish her memory one brother, the Rev. Willie M. Stevens of Maryland; two sisters, Bertha Warden of Norfolk; and Martha (Warren) Whiting of Philadelphia, Pa.; four brothers-in-law, Herman Davis, Daniel McEachin (Dolly), James McEachin (Phyllis) and John McEachin (Barbara); five sisters-in-law, Catherine Stevens, Janice Stevens, Lettie Fooks, Lucille Williams, and Theola Robinson; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

The funeral will be held at noon Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, in East End Baptist Church. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Park.

Viewing will take place from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12.
