Morris W. Pierce

Morris Woodward &uot;Pappy&uot; Pierce, 91, of Suffolk, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, in Obici Hospital. Born on Jan. 17, 1913, in Nansemond County, he was a son of the late James Cephus and Bertha Morris Pierce, and widower of Selma Jones Pierce and Catherine&uot; Kitty&uot; Pierce, and father of the late Morris W. Pierce Jr.
Mr. Pierce had retired from the Navy and Union Camp.
He was the oldest member of Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church, and was a member of Suffolk Lodge No. 30 AF&AM.
He is survived by his daughter, Lucy Cutchins Stewart, and her husband, Marvin; brother, John Pierce; sister, Virginia Rawls; granddaughter, Toni S. Camacho; grandson, Tracy L. Stewart, and wife, Lyn; great-grandson, Augie Camacho, all of Suffolk.
The funeral home will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, by the Rev. T. Floyd Irby, with burial in Holly Lawn Cemetery.
The service with Masonic rites will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home, followed by a visitation until 8:30 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
