Step Team holding practice Saturday at Birdsong

The NSTEP Step Team will begin holding practices at 11 a.m. today in Birdsong Recreation Center. The team will teach participants to learn to use their body in place of a drum by clapping, slapping your hands against various parts of their body, and stomping their feet to produce the complex rhythmic foundation for stepping. In addition to this array of bodily percussion, the NSTEP team also features complex synchronized body movements, along with singing, chanting, and verbal play. After the group learns the routines, NSTEP will go out as a team and show off their skills at various community events. For details, call 923-2360.
