Contribution made to memorial fund

At left: Frank Taylor, vice president of SuffolkFirst Bank, and Beth Polson, author, television producer and Gates County, N.C. native, on Friday accepted a contribution that Herb Brinkley Jr., owner of Herb’s Barbecue, made to the Alan Polson Memorial Fund. Brinkley, whose restaurant recently sponsored two book-signings showcasing Polson’s newest book, &uot;Secret Santa,&uot; donated all proceeds from the events to a memorial fund earmarked for the educating of Alan Polson’s three young children. The Suffolk resident and relative of Beth Polson is suffering from cancer.
