Malcolm Johnson Forbes Sr., 79, of Briarfield Drive in Great Bridge, the father of Rep. J. Randy Forbes (R-Va) died Saturday.

Born and raised in Great Bridge, he attended the four room schoolhouse still located at the corner of Battlefield Blvd. and Johnstown Road and was a graduate of Great Bridge School.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at Great Bridge Baptist Church, 640 Battlefield Blvd. South, Chesapeake. The Rev. Charles Moseley will officiate. Interment will follow with military honors and Masonic rites at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens.
