Craig Lamont Wiggins, 43, of Portsmouth, was driving eastbound on Holland Road when, according to police, he ran off the right side of the road about 12:15 a.m. He overcorrected and traveled back across the two-lane highway, striking the median strip and flipping over until his vehicle landed upright in the westbound lanes.

The second accident took place at 4:39 a.m., Sunday when an 18-year-old Holland Road man, Nathaniel Warren, was traveling southbound on Lummis Road, also off Holland Road.

According to the police, Warren’s 1989 Ford Bronco left the roadway, running off to the right side of the road where it flipped and ejected the driver. He landed in a ditch and his injuries required him to be transported by Nightingale Air Ambulance Service to Norfolk General Hospital. He is listed in fair condition.

In another accident, in the 4500 block of Bridge Road in northern Suffolk, two cars crashed while attempting to enter the I-664 southbound lane.

The driver of a 1991 Chevrolet Cavalier, Lesley Thomas Artis, 60, of Crowdy Boulevard in Portsmouth, was southbound with no lights burning.

The other driver, 40-year old Aderon Ampey Chapman, of Coxley Lane in Suffolk, was stopped in the left turn lane as he was yielding to southbound traffic while trying to get onto I-664.

Chapman made the left turn, failing to observe the Artis vehicle because it did not have its lights on. Artis was charged with driving without headlights.

Other accidents across the city took place throughout the weekend, beginning Friday night when two drivers crashed at Constance Road and Proctor Street; Breezeport Way at Bridge Road; Shoulders Hill Road at Bridge Road; McLauren Drive at Compton Court; White Marsh Road at Seminole Driver, and East Washington Street at 12th Street.
