Mr. and Mrs. Halford King of Shipman celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on Feb. 27 while cruising the Western Caribbean. They were married on Feb. 27 in Suffolk at the Christian Church with the late Rev. Dwayne Vare officiating. Hal and Carolyn are the parents of two daughters, Karen King Rodgers, who resides in Shipman with her husband and two sons, Thomas and Stephen Rodgers, and the late Carol Ann King. Mr. King graduated from Suffolk High School in 1952, and had retired from Virginia Electric Power Co. in 1992. Mrs. King graduated from Suffolk High School in 1953, and had retired from Obici Hospital in 1992.
