Willie B. Linton, 81, of Charlotte, N.C., son of the late Lawrence and Ellen Hall Linton, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2004, in Mercy Medical Center, Charlotte, N.C.

Willie was a former resident of 525 Kilby Ave. in Suffolk until 1976.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Lee Young Linton; one daughter, Vera Linton of Suffolk; four sons, Willie B. Linton and Paxton Linton of Suffolk; Calbert Linton (Pam) of Charlotte; and Garrett Linton of Port Jarvis, N.Y.; one brother, Jessie Linton of Wadesboro, N.C. 18 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Blanche Blount of Norfolk; and Rose Linton of High Point, N.C.; brother-in-law, Willie Young of Norfolk; and other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Grier Funeral Home Chapel, Charlotte. Interment will be in Bessie Chapel AMEZ Church Cemetery in Lilesville, N.C.
