Dorothy Murphy Presson, 79, widow of Harris C. &uot;Bubba&uot; Presson, of Tandem Health Care of Windsor, formerly of Wakefield, died Thursday, April 1, 2004. She was a lifelong homemaker and mother. She was a daughter of the late Joseph Bailey and Doris Brittle Murphy. She was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley C. Murphy
She was a lifelong member of Rocky Hock United Methodist Church in Wakefield. She also attended Wakefield Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Judy P. Baldwin, and husband, Danny, of Wakefield; Jane P. Franklin, and husband, Ben, of Alabaster, Ala.; and Berdie P. Duck, and husband, Leland, of Windsor; a son, H. Collier Presson Jr., and wife, Deborah, of Wakefield; seven grandchildren, April B. Holt, Joe Baldwin, Jason Baldwin, and Clinton Presson of Wakefield; Iralyn Franklin of Alabaster; and Anthony Presson of Goldsboro, N.C.; and Dee Council of Windsor; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nell M. Goodrich of Suffolk. She also leaves behind many cherished friends and relatives.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 4, in Rocky Hock United Methodist Church, Wakefield, with the Rev. Jim Kerr and the Rev. G.C. Branton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday in Purviance Funeral Home, 11414 General Mahone Highway.
