David Forman won three individual races, and Samantha Barbour and Matthew Peterson two apiece, as the Suffolk Gators racked up 102 points at a meet at the Hampton Family YMCA on April 3. The meet was the team’s final preparation for the YMCA All-Star event, which takes place April 24 at the Mount Trashmore YMCA in Virginia Beach. The Gators finished third at the Hampton event, behind the host Peninsula Metropolitan and Chesapeake.

The Gators first took home the mixed 100-yard medley relay, and David burned through to the Boys 6U 25-freestyle title. Samantha and Matthew took the event in both 7-8 competitions, and Anthony Wallace held off two close competitors in the 13-14 50-freestyle. Wallace’s time of 30.05 was a full .55 and .58 faster than the second- and third-place finishers.

David won the 6U 50-freestyle, and Matthew the 7-8 event. Taylor Berard nabbed the Girls 6U 25-backstroke, and David took the boys race. Samantha was the final first-place Gator, swimming to victory in the 7-8 25-butterfly.
