Helen Cecile Williams, 77, died April 9 at Sentara Windermere.
Born Jan. 20, 1927, in Mobile, Ala., she was the daughter of the late Walter Thomas and Victoria Montanari Williams.
Miss Williams retired in 1994 after 28 years of service with the Virginia State Health Department and 18 years as a private duty registered nurse. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Miss. Williams graduated from Suffolk high School in 1945 and DePaul School of Nursing in 1948.
Survivors include her sister, Katherine Elizabeth Williams Hundley and her husband, Earl, of Virginia Beach; nephew Robert Williams Hundley and his wife Patricia of Suffolk; two great nieces and one great nephew.
The memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home and Crematory by the Rev. Henri. Baillargeon. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday. Her family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Julie and the Sentara Hospice Program for their caring, devotion and kindness.
