Nursing scholarship awarded

Elizabeth H. Nelms (third from right) is the 2004 recipient of the Louise Obici School of Nursing Alumni Association Scholarship. Nelms and her husband, Robert, are the proud parents of four grown children. They are residents of the Reid’s Ferry neighborhood. Nelms is pursuing her nursing degree at Paul D. Camp Community College in Franklin. She is a volunteer for the Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad, and is employed at Obici Hospital’s Emergency Room. Funds for the scholarship were raised by a cake sale at Suffolk Christian Church, also staged by the Alumni Association.
