Clinton Whitaker, son of Geneva Bell Whitaker, and the late John Whitaker, was born on Aug. 14, 1946. The Lord called him home Wednesday, April 14, 2004, in Obici Hospital in Suffolk.

Two brothers, James Whitaker and Steve Whitaker and one sister, Beatrice W. Jones, predeceased him.

Clinton graduated from East Suffolk High School, and graduated from Norfolk State University in 1976.

He was employed by Lowes for 22 years.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Geneva B. Whitaker of Suffolk; his fianc\u00E9e, Janice Hoggard of Suffolk; a son, Corey Hoggard of Chesapeake; three brothers, Frederick Whitaker (Vicky) of Los Angeles, Calif.; and McKenzie Whitaker (Alice) and Haywood Whitaker, both of Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Marannia Faulk of Suffolk, and Lula Ametro Whitaker of Washington, D.C.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, in First Baptist Church Orlando. Interment will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery.

Viewing will be held from noon to 7 p.m. Monday in T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home.
