Staff Report
An update on the East Suffolk Complex project will head city council’s agenda when they meet in a work session at 4 p.m. today.
Council’s regular meeting begins at 7 p.m. in council chambers, located at City Hall, 441 Market St.
Also during the work session, city staff will present a report on the Lone Star Boat Ramp project, and trash collection service.

Presentation of a proclamation, and awards, in recognition of &uot;National Recreation and Parks Month&uot;
Consent Agenda
An ordinance to accept and appropriate:
-project income for the Fifth Judicial District Community Corrections Program
-a Virginia Exile Program Grant renewal award from the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services and providing for a local cash match – Second Reading
An ordinance to apply, accept and appropriate a 2005 State Homeland Security Program Grant from the Virginia Department of Emergency Management – Second Reading
-to accept and appropriate a grant award from the Virginia Fire Program Fund – Second Reading
-to accept and appropriate proceeds from various special events sponsored by the Division of Tourism – Second Reading
A resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a systems and service contract and a financing agreement for technology improvements in the Clerk of the Circuit Courts office
Public hearings
Rezoning Request RZ5-04 (Conditional), submitted by Whitney G. Saunders of Saunders, Barlow, Riddick, Babineau, P.C. on behalf of Scott Tompkins, property owner, to amend conditions for B-2, General Commercial (Conditional Zoning) on 2.65 acres
Conditional Use Permit Request C6-05, submitted by Jeffery L. Gardy on behalf of Gordon A. and Mary M. Van Schoick, property owners to permit the operation of a machine shop in accordance with Sections 31-306 and 31-406 of the Unified Development Ordinance
Six (6) resolutions requesting the Virginia Department of Transportation to establish projects utilizing Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) program funds
