Lillie B. Nichols

Lillie B. Nichols, 83, of the 7900 block of Merrimac Lane, Newport News, died Sunday, May 16, 2004, in Riverside Sentara Hospital after a long illness.
Mrs. Nichols was a native of Suffolk and a 66-year resident of Newport News.
She was the daughter of the late Willie Skeeter and Bessie Skeeter. She was predeceased by her husband, Weldon Nichols. She was aunt of the late Sherman A. Nichols, who lived in Suffolk.
She was a member of Mt. Ararat Christian Church and Twin City Hunting Club Women Auxiliary.
Survivors include one son, Melvin G. Nichols Sr., and wife, Gloria B. Nichols; two sisters-in-law, Texanna Younger, and husband, Charles, of Newport News; and Ethel Mae Bullock, and husband, Thomas, of Suffolk; three grandchildren, Melvin G. Nichols Jr., Julian P. Nichols and Anetta N. Nichols; one great-grandchild; eight nieces; and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, in Mt. Ararat Christian Church with the Rev. H. Harvey Murrill officiating. Interment will follow in Lauder Skeeter Cemetery, Suffolk.
The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. the day of the service.
Family and friends will assemble for the procession at noon today at 2044 and 2048 Whaleyville Blvd.
