Chamber recognizes six local businesses

Several Suffolk businesses have been recognized by the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce during Small Business Week.
Suffolk Economic Development Director Tom O’Grady announced at Wednesday’s Suffolk City Council meeting that Trindco was named Small Business of the Year in Suffolk.
Five others were named among Hampton Roads’ 25 rising companies. They include Baron’s Pub, Garcia Development, Karen’s for Kids, Suffolk First Bank, and Triple T. Gymnastics.
The Economic Development Department hosted a business appreciation golf tournament Tuesday at the recently renovated Sleepy Hole Golf Course.
Mayor E. Dana Dickens III called small business the &uot;economic backbone&uot; of Suffolk.
