Through the first four Late Model Stock Car races of 2004, the division was averaging 4.5 lead changes per event. That trend continued on May 7 as four drivers – Mike Conner, Morty Buckles, Timothy Peters and Bob Shreeves – traded the top spot five times.

With an inversion and mandatory green-flag pit stops, more of the same is expected in Friday’s 150-lapper.

The Pro-Six Series will be making its first official appearance at SMS on Friday. The group was slated for the April 2 program, which fell victim to the elements.

Now in its fifth season under the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series banner, Southampton Motor Speedway is a 4/10-mile, paved tri-oval, similar in configuration to Richmond Intern-ational Raceway.

The track is located on U.S. Highway 58, one mile west of Capron and 17 miles east of I-95 (Emporia exit).
