Elizabeth F. Russell

Elizabeth Fanney Russell, 88, of the 500 block of Blackfoot Trail, Edenton, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, in the Brian Center, Hertford.
Mrs. Russell was born in Suffolk, and was the daughter of the late DeWitt Floyd and Mary Anne Wellons Fanney.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Fletcher Russell Jr.
A former legal secretary, she had also served as the secretary for West End Baptist Church in Suffolk.
A member of Rocky Hock Baptist Church and its Bertha Dale WOM Group, she also attended the Brandon Chapel Ladies Guild and, until recently, was active in the Edenton United Methodist Women.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Russell Harrell, and her husband, Kermit, of Edenton; a son, Charles Fletcher Russell III, and his wife, Denise, of Suffolk; four grandsons, Charles Roland Harrell, and his wife, Chrissa, of Richmond; Mark DeWitt Harrell, and his wife, Vickie, of Altus, Okla., Charles Blake Russell of Chesapeake; and David Eugene Russell, and his wife, Renee, of Suffolk; and four great-grandsons, Joshua T. Harrell of Edenton; Christopher Harrell and Matthew Harrell, both of Altus; and Fletcher S. Harrell of Richmond.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home, Edenton, by Dr. James Horton. Burial will be held at 3:30 p.m. in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk.
Friends may join the family from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home and all other times at the residence.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that contributions be made to the building fund of Rocky Hock Baptist Church, 113 Rocky Hock Church Road, Edenton, NC 27932.
