Above center, William Braxton Barnhill, 14, of Boy Scout Troop 1 was welcomed Saturday into the ranks of fellow Eagle Scouts. He is the 105th Troop 1 Eagle Scout. The ceremony took place in Main Street United Methodist Church, which is the troop’s sponsor. With Barnhill are his father, Bill Barnhill (left), and Scout Leader Robert Baker, both also Eagle Scout from the troop. For his project, Barnhill planned and coordinated a 138-hour refurbishment and repainting of the interior of the caboose at the Suffolk Train Station. He will attend NSA this fall, and belongs to Cypress Chapel Christian Church.
