A Suffolk man injured in a logging accident Monday Tuesday is in stable condition at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Murray Blanchard, a 52-year-old employee of Wedgewood Timber Corp., was airlifted to the hospital after the top of a tree crashed through the safety glass window of the machine he was operating near the 800 block of Freeman Mill Road, said a spokesman for the Suffolk Department of Fire and Rescue. The treetop fell through the cab and into Blanchard’s groin.
