Fifth-graders at Kilby Shores Elementary School recently participated in a field day full of problem solving and fun.

Above: Chase Rice is being helped by Kindel Estes and Quinton Gilchrist in a relay race where students used a boogie board with cardboard rollers under it to move to the finishing line.

This race required students working together to replace the rollers periodically to keep the person on the board moving, much like the Egyptians did as they moved things from place to place.
