Pearline S. McCray

Pearline Scott McCray, 85, of 820 Brook Ave., Suffolk, died Sunday, June 20, 2004, in Obici Hospital. She was a native of Kingstree, S.C., and a daughter of the late Robert and Minnie Scott, and the widow of Earnest McCray.
She had retired from Planters Peanut Co.
She was a member of Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church where she was a deaconess and member and past president of the Senior Choir, member of the usher board and Pastor’s Aide, Mayes Barnes Missionary Circle, and Widows’ Club. She was also a member and past president of the Saratoga Flowers Club.
She is survived by two daughters, Quindell McCray and Lauretta McCray of Suffolk; two sons, Earnest McCray Jr. (Claudine) of Reading, Pa., and Timothy McCray of West Haven, Conn.; one sister, Flossie Johnson (Ben) of Kingstree; three sisters-in-law, Jeanett Scott of Baltimore, Md.; Burnetha McCrea and Lillie Mae McCrea of Suffolk; 22 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church by Dr. John E. Jones. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
The body will be taken to the church at 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
