Public shouldn’t have to pay to watch our money being spent

Editor, the News-Herald:
I tore out the article requesting opinions from people who are obnoxious or opinionated. My wife, daughters, grandchildren, friends, and neighbors all agree I qualify on all counts. Is this a compliment or what? I consider it a badge I wear proudly. If you want advice or and opinion on anything. I’ll give you the truth, but as always some can’t stand the truth and wished they had never asked me of all people for an opinion.
Knowing you are right most of the time is a terrible burden to bear, but one I bear willingly and without excuse to anyone.
The parks and recreation department want to again charge us to see our fireworks at the Suffolk Airport. Their 2.2 milllion dollars budget is not enough money to allow us taxpayers to watch our money being spent? Mr. Mayor, City Council, do something.
