Alan Russell

Alan Rudolph Russell, 52, died June 27 in Virginia Medical Center in Hampton. He was a native of Southampton, and the son of the late Reba and Huston Russell. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from the Long Island Devlopmental Center in Melville.
He leaves to mourn one son, Troy R. Russell (Aiesha) of Fort Hood, Tex., Constance Thorne-Russell, a former wife and trusted friend, four grandchildren, Tre`ointe, Tareba, Trionna and Jon, all of Suffolk, two step-grandchildren, Hausaan and Telia, mother-in-law Bertha Wigfall, brother-in-law Tamier Yardine of Hollywood, Calif., one sister-in-law, Jean Hill of South Carolina, nine aunts, Gertrude Rimm, Catherine Wright, Margie Callahan (Eddie), Emma Bottoms, Thelma Richardson, Dora Bryant, Beatrice Allen, Rose Mae Stevenson, Ruth Thornton, three uncles, Jack Russell, Melvin Thorne, Artis Thorne, his grandmother Mae Russell, a niece Monique Mouzon (Herman), and a host of cousins and friends.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 3 at Crocker Funeral Home. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetary. The family will receive friends and relatives at 3760 Nansemond Parkway.
