Annie M. Welch

Annie M. Welch of 9910 DuBarry Street, Glen Dale, Mary., died Sunday, July 4 at Washington Adventist Hospital in Maryland after a brief illness. A native of Suffolk, she was the daughter of Eddie and Daisy Walker Figgs.
She attended Suffolk Public Schools and was employed by Planters Peanut Company until her retirement in 1980.
Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Gilchrist; three grandchildren, Shirelle A. Jordan of Glen Dale, Mary., James Gamble, Jr. of Bowie, and Sharon Gamble of Hyattsville, Mary.; a sister-in-law, Ila Jacobs Moore of Suffolk; two cousins, Marie Spears and Helen Daughtrey of Suffolk, seven great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 9 in Crocker Funeral Home. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will assemble at 1206 Truman Road, at 1 p.m. Friday for the procession to the funeral home.
