Lillie Morris, a resident of Autumn Care, celebrated her 100th birthday on Thursday, July 1 in the dining room of the facility.
Attending were her five granddaughters Carolyn Stagg, Joann Skeeter and Donna Silver from Suffolk and Barbara Jordan and Sandra Gilmore from Chesapeake.
Residents, personnel and family members who attended enjoyed a delicious dinner and cake.
Stagg said that her grandmother’s longevity may be contributed to the fact that all through her life she has always been loving, giving, and thinks of others before herself.
&uot;The gift of service is her middle name,&uot; she said. &uot;Her favorite Bible verse is found in the Psalm 91 and I always read it to her when I visit.&uot;
