Douglas Arnold Boone

Douglas Arnold Boone, 54, of 406 Hunter Street in Suffolk, died Friday, July 16, in his residence. A native of Nansemond County, he was the son of the late Edna Boone Savage and Fred Douglas Boone.
He attended Nansemond County Public Schools and served in the United States Army. He was a licensed barber and a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene Vanessa Hicks-Boone; a son, DeNario Arvay Boone of Hillcrest Heights, Mary.; a daughter, Edna Denise Boone of Washington, D.C.; a stepson, James Tabias Hicks; his stepfather, Aaron Savage; a sister, Arthalia Denis Kahan (Vernell); two aunts, Dorothy B. Ricks and Nettie B. Faulk; a first cousin reared as a sister, Brenda Ricks Bullock (William) of Richmond; a grandson and other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 21 in Metropolitan Baptist Church by Dr. Robert L. Hobbs. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home is in charge.
