Editor, the News-Herald:

The superintendent of schools says he is disappointed with the number of schools that have failed to attain the necessary score to be full accredited.

The City Council has given the school system every dollar it has asked and even given extra money for teachers’ salaries. If this superintendent was a professional football coach, he would be looking for a job.

I think Mr. Liverman is a fine man and is doing his best, but there comes a time when a change is necessary. If he cannot improve the system, he will have to go. The students deserve the best leadership tax money can buy. He should take the bull by the horns and fire any teachers, principals, or staff who do not perform up to par. Replace them with those who can.

The School Board voted themselves a 100 percent pay raise. They also should earn this money and make the tough decisions they are paid to make, not just vote yea each month.

One more thing, stop charging students $20 to park on the school parking lot. We taxpayers paid for the school and the parking lot. Mr. Superintendent, let some heads roll and you will get results.
