Mrs. Mary V. Harcum, 80, of 206 N. Capitol St., Suffolk, died Aug. 1 2004 in Queens, NY. A Suffolk native, she was the daughter of the late Emmitt and Cora Luke Garner, and the wife of the late James W. Harcum Sr. She was also preceded in death by a death by a son, James Harcum, Jr.

She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, and retired from Hill Crest Nursing Home after 25 years of service. She was also a former member of East End Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son; Randy Harcum of Queens, NY; a daughter-in-law; one granddaughter; three sisters-in-law; two brothers in law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A graveside service will be held Friday, Aug. 6 at 11am in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home Inc. is in charge.
