Harward’s support of Kerry baffling

Editor, the News-Herald:

The photo of

William Harward on the cover of the Sunday edition (&uot;Fighting City Hall&uot;) was quite amusing. Mr. Harward is fighting against high taxes, but the photo showed him holding a Kerry-Edwards campaign sticker. Doesn’t he know that Kerry plans to raise taxes if he is elected President? A prominent member of the Democratic Party, Hillary Rodham-Clinton, even said recently that Democrats must take more money in taxes for the good of all people. If he is truly fighting against high taxes, he should look toward President Bush, who enacted a tax refund for all citizens and who believes in lowering taxes. I won’t even talk about Mr. Harward’s Vietnam Veteran’s hat, since we know how well Kerry supported troops after his return from Vietnam.
