This month, more than 335,000 homes and businesses across Virginia, Maryland and Delaware will learn about the good things happening in Suffolk.
The September edition of &uot;Cooperative Living,&uot; a magazine published by the Virginia, Maryland and Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives for community cooperative customers in the three states, features a profile on Suffolk.
The article is part of the publication’s Down Home series, which looks at the changing communities that make up the association’s service area.
Although most of Suffolk is served by Dominion Virginia Power, a handful of residents – mostly in the rural southwestern pocket of the city – is served by the Windsor-based Community Electric Cooperative.
According to its web site, that cooperative serves 9,900 residential and commercial accounts in parts of Suffolk, Isle of Wight, Southampton, Sussex and Surry counties.
The &uot;Cooperative Living&uot; article was written by News-Herald reporter Allison T. Williams. The accompanying photographs were shot by photographer Eric. P. Brooks.
