Dorothy Daniels, daughter of the late Harvy Diggs, Sr. and Mariah Diggs, was born on November 26, 1933, in Suffolk. She passed away on Monday, November 1, 2004 in Obici Memorial Hospital.

She was predeceased by a son Michael Jackson. She attended the public schools of Suffolk and graduated from East Suffolk High School and furthered her education at A & T College in North Carolina.

Ms. Daniels was a member of Macedonia A.M.E. Church and there she served on the Mother and Usher boards; senior and fellowship choirs.

She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted husband James Daniels, Sr., two sons James Daniels, Jr. of Chesapeake and Lamont Daniels, of Suffolk; brother, John Diggs (Brenda) of Suffolk, one sister Odell Evans, three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one aunt Emma McAllister, four nieces, two nephews, other cousins, relatives and friends.

The viewing is on Thursday, November 4, 2004 at the T.E. Cooke Overton Funeral Home from noon to 7 p.m. The wake is from 6 to 7 p.m. The funeral is on Friday, November 5, 2004 at 1 p.m. at Macedonia AME Church, 127 Pine St. Interment is at Carver Memorial Park.
