Howard Washington, of 809 Haskins Drive, Suffolk, died November 2, 2004 in Obici Hospital. He was a native of Nansemond County and was preceded in death by his wife Audrey Briscoe Washington.

He attended East Suffolk High School. He was a member of Tabernacle Christian Church. He was a carrier for the Virginian-Pilot newspaper.

He is survived by his mother, Mamie Jordan; one sister, Pearl Fenner of Suffolk; two brothers, Rev. George E. Fenner (Rev. Mable) of Zuni and Curtis L. Fenner (Valerie) of Hempistead, N. Y.; a devoted friend, Barbara Ratliff; two devoted nephews, Anthony Fenner and Altron Briscoe; one devoted sister-in-law, Brenda Briscoe; one brother-in-law, William Briscoe (Barbara); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. A godchild Sgt. Marvetta Lewis, US Army.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 6, 2004 in Tabernacle Christian Church by Dr. Carlton Upton. Internment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The body will be taken to the church at 9:30 a.m. Crocker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
