Michael Saville Rogers

Michael Saville Rogers, age 45, passed away November 3, 2004 after a brief illness. He is survived by his parents William Saville and Marian &uot;Bea&uot; Rogers of Suffolk, brothers David Baker Rogers of Gaithersburg, Md. and James Duer Rogers of Sterling, Va., a sister-in-law Martha Lankford Rogers and nephew James Harland Rogers of Gaithersburg, Md., aunts June B. Stewart of New Jersey and Louise B. Pascal of Maryland, an uncle Charles R. Rogers II of Cambridge, Ma., eight cousins, and numerous second cousins.

Michael was born in the Naval Hospital, Cherry Point, N.C. and lived with his parents at various Marine Corps bases, including three years in Hawaii. He moved to Suffolk when his father retired from the Marine Corps in 1977. In 1978 he settled at the Southeastern Virginia Training Center in Chesapeake where he lived for the last 25 years with his &uot;adopted&uot; family.

Michael enjoyed many outdoor activities, including family camping and is now most likely watching his very favorite sport on TV with his grandfather.

Visitation will be at the Sturtevant Funeral Home, 2690 Bridge Road (US 17) from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, November 8, 2004.
