Sixty-four descendants of William Benjamin and Barbara Underwood Powell had their 20th family reunion on Oct. 9, 2004, at the King’s Fork Community Center.

The host family was the Florrie Powell and Clinton Jackson Smith line.

Family members honored with gifts were: William and Jean Byrd Powell for the longest married couple; Jack Riddick, the senior-most gentleman; Virginia Smith Jenkins, the senior-most lady; and eight-month-old Brooke Elizabeth Powell, the youngest.

Door prizes were given throughout the afternoon.

The meal was catered by Roy’s & Ricky’s Catering.

Barry Hobbs served as the moderator for the day.

Ten family members who died since the last reunion were remembered. The birth of four new descendants was announced.

Victor Griffin won the final door prize, a newly revised and expanded family tree book by Betty S. Hobbs.
