Mrs. Marie Myrick, 89, of 1704 Portsmouth Blvd., Suffolk, Va., died November 10, 2004, in Obici Hospital, Suffolk. She was a native of Southampton County. She was the daughter of the Joe Earl Artis and Nettie P. Artis.

She was the widower of John Myrick.

She was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She was a member of the Deaconess Ministry, Harvesters Mission Circle, Ladies Bible Class, and a former member of the nurse’s staff, kitchen committee and household of Ruth #115 Zeta Amicae-Suffolk.

She leaves to cherish three special nieces, Inga B. Mason of Washington, D.C., Charmaine F. Moore and Denise Morton; other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; a special cousin, Gloria Jones; and two special friends, Ella Williams and Edna Britt. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2004, in the Crocker Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Robert Hobbs.

Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
