Dorothy T. Daughtrey

On November 14, 2004, God called home Dorothy Tollin Daughtrey. She was the widow of Norman L. Daughtrey, beloved mother of Dorothy D. McDermott, grandmother of Kathleen T. Warholic and Sean P. McDermott, great grandmother of Kyle Patrick and Taylor Daughtrey, Madeline Ann and Erin Katherine Warholic, Christian Patrick and Lauren Frances McDermott, aunt of Joan Holloway, Mary Patterson and Regina Starling and a friend of many.

Dorothy graduated from Maury High School in Norfolk,

and moved to Suffolk in 1937. For 12 years she worked at the Suffolk Health Department and served as a nurses’ aide for twelve years. She volunteered at Leigh Memorial Hospital for six years and Founders Inn for two years. Dorothy was an active member of Westminister Reformed Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 19, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the R. W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home & Crematory by the Rev. Ruffin Alphin with entombment in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens mausoleum. The family will receive friends in the funeral home Thursday from
