Iola Walker

Iola Walker, daughter of the late Shelton Lassiter and Elsie Carson, was born on September 13, 1925 in Sunbury, North Carolina. God called her home on November 14, 2004 at Nansemond Pointe Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility, Suffolk.

She leaves to cherish her memories:

three daughters, Carolyn Waters (Leroy) and Glenda Daniels (Howard) both of Suffolk, and Renee’ Palmer (Tony) of Portsmouth, three sisters, Margaret Staggs, Inez King and Mabel Edwards all of Suffolk, three brothers, Mack Lassiter (Louise) of Suffolk, Horace Lassiter (Lazarus) and Russell Lassiter (Mattie) of Detroit, Michigan; nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; brother-in-laws, Willie Walker (Pearline) of Suffolk and Roosevelt Walker (Dorothy) of Detroit, Michigan; sister-in-laws, Annie Green, Mary Whitaker and Mildred Lassiter; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

The funeral Service will be held Friday, November 19, 2004 in the Chapel of T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home at 1 p.m. The viewing on Thursday, November 18, 2004 from noon to 7 p.m. with the Interment at Holly Lawn Cemetery. The T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home is in charge.
