John M. Felts, 78, of the 600 block of Massachusetts Ave., Norfolk, passed away November 16, 2004 in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. A native of Nansemond County, he was the son of the late Everett A. Felts, Sr. and Emma Oliver Felts. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and received an honorable discharge. Mr. Felts retired from Tidewater Industrial Fasteners and was a member of Suffolk Christian Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Mary B. Felts of Norfolk; sons, John M. Felts, Jr. and wife, Gena, of Frisco, Tex. and Kevin M. Felts and wife, Joanna, of Norfolk; daughter, Lynne Robin Felts Mansfield and husband, Steve, of Norfolk; and six grandchildren, Jason, Casey, Logan, Josef, Steven Tyler, and Addison Elizabeth.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, November 19, 2004 at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. The Interment is in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk, Virginia. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in John’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Diabetes Institutes Foundation.
