Evan Augustus Wallace Sr., 51, of 2127 Arizona Ave., Suffolk died suddenly on November 19, 2004 in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Formerly of Charles City County, Va., he was born December 1, 1952 to the late Summerfield and Rosa Bradby Wallace. Evan, preceded in death by a son, Brandon Thurston, is survived by his wife, Vickie L. Jones Wallace, Suffolk; his children, Evan Allen, E’Vanna, and Evan Augustus Jr.; mother-in-law, Elaine Jones; stepmother Florine Wallace; eleven sisters: Emma E. Adkins, Etta W. Jones (Archer), Rev. Arnette W. Brown (James), Delois W. Allen (Clyde), Joyce L. Crawley (Ralph), Clem W. Miles (Floyd), Rosa O. Tabb, of Hampton; Anna Adkins (Dudley), Dorothy Armstead (Michael), Brenda Warden of Newport News; and Wilhelmina Hopson (Prince) of Hampton; six brothers: Willie Summerfield Wallace, Jr. (Catherine), Leon Wallace (Otelia), Dallis Wallace (Elinor), Rev. Daniel Wallace (Bessie), Bobby Wallace, of Baltimore, Md.; and Maurice Wallace; one aunt, Princetta Allen; two aunts-in-law: Dorothy and Helen Bradby; three sisters-in-law: Angela Kerry (Leon) of Chesapeake; Georgiette Rodriguez (Epifanio) of Suffolk, Monica Floyd (Tre’) of Jacksonville, Florida; one devoted nephew, James Brown (Big); a godchild, ShaVon Hall; four devoted friends: William C. Beamon (Bro), James Baker (Red), Alvin Wiggins (Bubba), and Dudley Adkins (Junnie); a great host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. A long-time employee of Anheuser Busch, Evan was loved and respected by everyone.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Little Elam Baptist Church, 8840 Church Lane, Charles City, Virginia with Rev. Frank Long officiating. The Interment will be in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that all donations be made to the American Heart Association. His remains rest at the Crocker Funeral Home, Inc., 900 E. Washington St., Suffolk, 539-7443.

Viewing will be at the funeral home from noon to 7 p.m. on Thursday and at the church on Friday at noon.
