Shirley T. Johnson, 49, 226 N. Sixth St., Suffolk, Va departed this life on November

26, 2004 at Obici Memorial Hospital in Suffolk. Born in Windsor, Va., Ms. Johnson was the daughter of the late Eldred Milteer Harris and the late Elbert Harris, Sr. She was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School, class of ’73. Ms. Johnson had retired from the Chesapeake School System as a cashier and cook after five years of service. Ms. Johnson was a member of Missouri Baptist Church and the church choir.

Shirley leaves to mourn her passing two sons, Antoine Lemonte Holland of Newport News and Tabarus Mandell Holland of Suffolk; two sisters, Queen Ratcliff of Suffolk and Evelyn Everette of Alexandria, Va; five brothers, Elbert Harris, Jr., and Samuel Harris both of Portsmouth, Charles Harris and Opus Harris of Suffolk, and Elroy Harris of Richmond; six grandchildren, two aunts, one uncle and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

The Home Going Service will be Thursday, December 2, 2004 at 1 p.m. at the Missouri Baptist Church on Lake Cahoon Road with the Pastor Ronnie Boone officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 11:30 a.m. A wake will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. The final resting place will be at the Carver Cemetery in Suffolk. The family will assemble at the residence at 12 p.m. for the processional. Services are entrusted to the care of Crocker Funeral Home in Suffolk.
